In Laird's 2011-12 season, she set two new individual school records at the league meet in the 100 and 200 backstroke. In her 2012-13 season, she was an All-Summit League performer in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay, and 200 backstroke. She was the first swimmer in program's history to surpass 2:00 in the 200 back with a 3rd place time of 1:59.90 at the conference championships. Her 100 back set a new record and was the fifth fastest in Summit League history. She was part of the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 medley teams that all set new school records. In her 2013-14 season, she was named an All-Summit League performer after finishing top 3 in four relays and two individual events at the Summit League championships. She broke the 200 and 400 free relay records. She was the first swimmer in IUPUI history to post a 'B' cut time when she posted a time of 54.82 in 100 back at House of Champions Meet. 

Academically, she has made appearances on the IUPUI Academic Advisor's List, earned Summit League Academic Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Summit League selection, Summit League All Academic team, Summit League Honor Roll, and the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence.
