INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI softball team (15-28, 4-10) heads to Highland Heights, Ky. on Tuesday (Apr. 26) for a doubleheader with the Norse of Northern Kentucky (10-35, 3-14). Game one of the doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. at Frank Ignatius Grien Softball Field in Highland Heights, Ky.
The Jags enter Tuesday playing their best softball of the season, winning five of their last seven games with those two losses coming by a combined three runs.
The strong play continues for junior
Taylor Chitwood (.333) and senior
Ali Mosier (.331) as the pair continue to lead the lineup in batting average. Mosier tops the Jags in home runs (nine) and hits (47) while Chitwood has been bringing in runs at an alarming rate, tallying 36 RBIs in 43 games.
Veteran
Brooke Boetjer and rookie
Kaitlynn Moody continue to shine from the mound this season. Boetjer holds a team-best 3.13 ERA, including eight wins and 12 complete games. The two pitchers have collected 160 combined strikeouts between them.
Tuesday's doubleheader features a Northern Kentucky team that's won one of its last eight games and just two of its last 17 match-ups.
