INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indy closed out its 2026 season on Saturday afternoon with a tough 6-2 extra-inning loss to Northern Kentucky at home.
Locked in a scoreless battle through four innings, the Jaguars broke through first in the fifth.
Adeline Blackwell sparked the rally with a leadoff single, and after a walk and hit-by-pitch loaded the bases,
Alexa Holman delivered a two-out, two-RBI single to give IU Indy a 2-0 advantage.
Holman was strong in the circle as well, holding Northern Kentucky hitless through the first four innings and keeping the Norse off the board into the seventh. But NKU rallied late, scoring twice in the top of the seventh on a pair of RBI plays to even the game at 2-2 and force extra innings.
In the eighth, Northern Kentucky capitalized on an IU Indy error and a pair of hit batters to load the bases before delivering the decisive blow. Mack Brow's two-run double put the Norse ahead, and a two-run double from Jena Rhoads extended the lead to 6-2.
IU Indy was unable to answer in the bottom half, stranding a runner as the Norse secured the win.
Blackwell led the Jaguars offensively with two hits, while Holman accounted for both RBI and threw all eight innings in the loss.
The loss wraps up the season for the Jaguars, who finish the year 7-40 overall.
