Sophomore women’s tennis player #Vanessa Whyte# has been chosen the Sahm’s IUPUI Female Athlete of the Month for April 2011. Whyte went 3-1 in singles play at 1-3 in doubles action during the month.

 

Of Whyte’s three singles wins in April, all came in Summit League action as she helped the Jaguars finish the regular-season campaign with three consecutive wins. Thanks to the three straight victories, IUPUI climbed into a tie for fourth in the final Summit League standings.

Whyte’s three conference wins in April at the No. 3 singles position moved her league record to a perfect 6-0 paving the way to being named an All-Summit League performer.

On the season, Whyte finished with a singles record of 12-11.
