INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's track team opened the 2025-26 indoor season on Friday night (Jan. 16) with strong showings in the 3,000m event at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic inside the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Freshman
Eli Oetken was the team's top finisher with a time of 8:43.89 as the team's lone entrant in the faster of the two heats. Fellow freshman
Evan Farmer won the slower heat in a time of 8:47.84, placing ninth overall.
Junior
Nolan King ran a personal best time of 8:54.86 and freshman
Isaac Riggs finished at 8:56.51. Another freshman,
Zach Risner, finished at 9:01.04 and sophomore
Zane Schorr clocked a time of 9:09.91.
Nicholas Probst ran a time of 9:20.19 and junior
Jay Pillai rounded out the team's entries at 9:23.22.
The Jaguars will return to action on Saturday with individuals slated for the mile and 800m events.
