CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The IUPUI men's and women's track teams will head to Champaign, Ill., for this week's Illini Invitational, being held at Demirjian Park on Friday (Apr. 22) and Saturday (Apr. 23). The meet will provide stiff competition as the regular season winds down as teams are expected from Bradley, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Illinois, Illinois State, Milwaukee, Murray State, SIUE, Southern Illinois, UIC, Valparaiso and Western Michigan, among others.

All of the men's team's entries will compete on Friday (Apr. 22) while the women's team will be spread over both Friday and Saturday (Apr. 23).

The men's team will compete in just four different events with Jaguars entered in the 200m, 1500m, 5K and javelin. Freshman James Kuisel will run the 200, taking aim at the school record time of 23.21. In the 1,500, senior Eric Hoffman headlines nine entrants, coming in with a personal best time of 3:53.20. Friday's meet will also allow a first opportunity for new addition Will Berning to throw javelin. Berning, who's attending graduate school after competing for four seasons at Concordia Moorhead, looks to post a mark ahead of the upcoming Horizon League Championships.

On the women's side, head coach Antonio McDaniel's team is set for a full two days of competition across 13 different events.

The sprints include an entry from Amani Miles while the duo of hurdles, Katie Moore and Marie Terry, are slated to compete as well. Miles owns personal best times of 12.75 in the 100 and the school record time of 24.85 in the 200. Moore owns the Jaguars' school record in the 100 hurdles at 15.23 while Terry has the program record in the 400 hurdles at 1:01.89. Senior Sabrina Elder, an Illinois-native, will compete in the 400 as she attempts to lower her personal best time of 1:00.81.

Sophia Taylor will compete in the 800m event and the quartet of Ellie Cates, Madison Fry, Kara Krol and Hannah Sale will run the 1,500. Cates owns a time of 4:46.86 and Fry has run 4:50.26. True freshman Laci Provenzano highlights IUPUI's four entries in the 5K, having run a time of 18:30.93.
