VOLLEYBALL TRAVELS TO MILWAUKEE AND UIC FOR THE WEEKEND

IUPUI will finish up the first half of the Horizon League schedule against Milwaukee on Friday (Oct. 18) and UIC on Saturday (Oct. 19).

MILWAUKEE, Wis, – IUPUI volleyball will close out the first half of the Horizon League schedule on the road with matches at Milwaukee (Oct. 18) and UIC (Oct. 19). The Jags will look to break a four-match losing streak facing off against a Panther team that sits on top of the league standings on Friday.

After facing off against Milwaukee at 7 p.m. ET, the Jags will head to Chicago to take on UIC on Saturday (Oct. 19) beginning at 5 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
  • IUPUI dropped a five set match at Green Bay on Sunday (Oct. 13). The Jags fell behind 2-0 in the match before forcing a fifth set, eventually dropping the deciding set 15-13.
  • Maddie Dean led the Jaguar offense with 12 kills and hit .212. Dean also finished the match with three digs and a block.
  • McKayla Wright was the only other Jaguar to finish in double-figures with 10 kills but had 11 errors.
  • Rachel Hickey led the defense with 22 digs and Rhiannon Schuenemann tallied 16.
  • The offense was guided by Rebecca Schlechte with 23 assists and Regan Trueblood posted 21.
  • IUPUI finished with 12 service aces, led by Wright with four and Corrissa Remter and Hickey each had three.
  • IUPUI hit .296 and .323 in the third and fourth sets, respectively, but the Jags hit -.043 in the deciding set.
  • IUPUI was not able to stop Green Bay's Taylor Wolf who posted 22 kills and 15 digs while hitting .390. Wolf also finished with five blocks as Green Bay finished with more blocks than IUPUI (11-8).
JAG SCRATCHES
  • IUPUI has played in three five-set matches in Horizon League play this season, including the last two matches. The Jags are 1-2 in five-setters in league play and 3-4 in five-set matches this season.
  • The Jags' 12 service aces against Green Bay are a season-high and the most Oct. 16, 2010 when the Jags also had 12 against UMKC. The Jags had 12 aces twice in the 2010 season, also posted 12 against Western Illinois (Sept. 24).
  • IUPUI is second in the league with 1.50 service aces for the season, the Jags are first in the league in league play at 1.92 aces per set. The Jags are also first in league play allowing just 0.88 aces per set for their opponents.
  • For the second-straight match, IUPUI committed double-digit service errors. The Jags had 18 service errors against Green Bay after committing 18 service errors against Youngstown State.
  • Since beginning conference play, IUPUI has finished with at least seven blocks in each match. The Jags first three conference matches ad 15, 14 and 10 blocks respectively. Since, IUPUI has not posted double-digit blocks.
  • IUPUI is second in the Horizon League in league play with 2.58 blocks per set. Haley Hoffman continues to lead the league with 1.58 blocks per set in Horizon League play.
  • McKayla Wright continues to lead the Jaguar offense with 3.00 kills per set. Dean is tops in the lineup with 147 kills.
  • Haley Hoffman is hitting a team-high 2.68 and freshman Corrissa Remter is second on the squad with .213.
  • Rachel Hickey leads the back line defense with 4.37 digs per set and had 306 digs on the season.
HOFFMAN CLIMBING THE CHARTS
  • Haley Hoffman has 324 career-blocks, fifth all-time in IUPUI history. Hoffman is 21 blocks away from moving in to third all-time.
  • Hoffman's 56 career solo blocks have moved her to fourth all-time in school history. Hoffman is six solo blocks away from becoming third all-time.
  • Hoffman is sixth in school history with 268 block assists. Hoffman is six block assists away from getting in to the top-five.
SCOUTING REPORT
Milwaukee
  • Milwaukee is 18-2 on the season and 5-1 in Horizon League play. The Panthers lost their last match, a five-set loss to Oakland.
  • The Panthers have the best hitting offense in the league this season, hitting .247 as a team for the year. Carmen Heilemann (.306) and Ari Miller (.304) are second and third in the league, respectively. Jenna Miller sits seventh in the league at .281.
  • Milwaukee leads the league in both assists per set (13.49) and kills per set (14.36), while also holding opponents to a league low in assists per set (10.85) and kills per set (11.35).
  • The Panthers are the best service receiving team in the league with opponents averaging 0.85 aces per set.
  • Five Milwaukee players are averaging over 2.35 kills per set led by Heilemann with 2.91 and Miller at 2.87.
UIC
  • UIC is riding a two-match winning streak and has evened its conference record up to 3-3. The Flames are 14-6 on the season.
  • UIC beat Wright State in three sets and Cleveland State in four in its last two matches. The Flames will play Northern Kentucky on Friday (Oct. 18) before takin on the Jags on Saturday (Oct. 19).
  • The Flames are the top blocking team in the Horizon, averaging 2.61 blocks per set with Michelle Glover tops in the conference at 1.34.
