IU INDY VOLLEYBALL TRAVELS TO WESTERN KENTUCKY FOR WEDNESDAY EXHIBITION

The Jags are set for a 7:00 PM ET first serve in Bowling Green

8/19/2026 9:53:00 AM

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The IU Indy volleyball team will get its first taste of competition for the 2026 season on Wednesday night as the Jaguars travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for a preseason exhibition against Western Kentucky. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. CT) inside E.A. Diddle Arena.

Head coach Andrew Kroger enters his fourth season at the helm of the Jaguars after guiding IU Indy to an 18-14 overall record and an 11-7 mark in Horizon League play in 2025. The Jags also picked up a postseason victory over Milwaukee in the Horizon League Tournament.

IU Indy brings back an experienced core from last year's squad, highlighted by reigning Horizon League Setter of the Year Grace Purichia. All-Conference performers Jillian Tippmann and Laura Roeder also return as the Jaguars look to build off a 2025 campaign in which the team averaged 13.8 kills per set and hit .239.

Tonight's exhibition will provide Kroger and the Jaguars with their first opportunity to see the 2026 roster in match action before the regular season begins later this month. Wednesday marks the Hilltoppers' second preseason competition after a scrimmage against Bellarmine on Aug. 14.

Following Wednesday's matchup, IU Indy will continue its preseason slate with another road exhibition at Indiana State on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 5:00 p.m. The Jaguars officially open the 2026 season on Aug. 28 against San Diego State as part of a three-match trip to Seattle.
