SOFTBALL TRAVELS TO NASHVILLE FOR THE WEEKEND

IUPUI will play Bowling Green and Lipscomb twice during the trip.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After having its last five games cancelled or postponed to weather, IUPUI will hope Mother Nature will cooperate more this weekend as the Jags are schedule to play four games.

The Jags (4-11) will play Bowling Green and Lipscomb over the weekend, facing each team twice. The weekend will start on Saturday (March 17) against Bowling Green at 12 p.m., and the Jags will take on host Lipscomb at 2:30 p.m. To finish up the weekend on Sunday (March 18), IUPUI will play Bowling Green at 12 p.m., and Lipscomb at 5 p.m.

Mandy Dallas is the top batter for the Jags, hitting .350 and has the only home run of the year. Maddie Keeley is second on the team, hitting .318 and is tied for the team lead with 14 hits. Keeley is also the top base stealer for head coach Elisabeth Beirne, having gone 6-for-6 on the season. Adison Lorsung is the top run producer with eight RBI and has a team high four doubles.

In the circle, Megan Overton holds a 2.53 era and is 3-3 on the season. Overton has recorded 34 strikeouts in 44.1 innings pitched. Dezirae Leonard is second on the team with a 4.36 ERA with a 1-7 record but has not allowed more than four earned runs in her last three starts.

SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN
Bowling Green comes in to the weekend with a 13-9 overall record, winning two of five games at the Memphis Tournament last weekend. In their last game, BGSU beat Butler 12-3. The Falcons are hitting .325 as a team and have seven batters with a batting average of over .300. BGSU has also hit 17 home runs with Kali Holcomb and Sarah Gonzalez leading the team with four. Holcomb is also the leading run producer, with 25 RBI.

Two pitchers, Meredith Miller and Brooke Parker have sub-3.00 ERAs with Miller posting a 2.21 ERA in 69.2 innings. Miller has also struck out 88 batters.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
The Bisons earned a midweek win over Bradley to improve to 15-6 overall. The offense is only hitting .263 as a team but the pitching has carried Lipscomb this season. Mandy Jordan is a perfect 10-0 on the season with and 0.75 ERA and has four complete game shutouts. Jordan also has 96 strikeouts to just 12 walks. Jordan Fortel is second on the team with a 1.68 ERA.

Lipscomb has hit six home runs as a team and Caitlin Turner is the only player on team hitting over .300 with a .342 batting average.
