SOFTBALL BACK IN ACTION IN CHATTANOOGA OVER WEEKEND

IUPUI will play five games over the weekend at the Frost Classic, hosted by Chattanooga.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The IUPUI softball team will be back in action for the first time in two weeks at the Frost Classic, hosted by Chattanooga, over the weekend.
The Jags (1-4) are scheduled to play five games over the weekend, taking on Evansville, Chattanooga, Southeast Missouri State, Eastern Illinois and UT-Martin.

IUPUI will look to break a four-game losing streak after winning its first game of the season against Fort Wayne.

Delilah Wright has been the top bat for the Jags so far, hitting .417 with five hits. Haley Ginger has been the top run producer with three RBI and has the Jags only triple. Mandy Dallas leads IUPUI with two doubles.

In the circle, Megan Overton earned the Jags' season-opening win and has a 5.14 ERA to go along with her 1-0 record. Dezirae Leonard will be looking for her first win of the season as she went 0-3 with a 6.64 ERA in Rosemont, Ill.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
Evansville enters the weekend with a 2-6 record and have lost five-straight games. Eryn Gould leads the Purple Aces with a .435 average, including 10 hits. Brittany Hay leads the squad with nine RBI and is tie for the team lead with Lindsay Renneisen with two home runs. In total, Evansville has hit eight home runs on the year.

In the circle, Morgan Florey leads the team with a 1.35 ERA though she only has a 1-2 record to show for it. Florey also has 26 strikeouts in just 20 innings pitched to go along with only three earned runs.

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga holds a 4-5 overall record and broke a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Tennessee State the last time the Mocs took the field. Emma Sturdivant is the top hitter for Chattanooga, as she leads the team or is tied for the lead in batting average (.450), hits (9), triples (1), home runs (1) and RBI (7). Hayleigh Weissenbach is a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts this season.

Celie Hudson and Allison Swinford have logged the most innings in the circle for Chattanooga. Hudson has started five games and holds a 2-2 record with a 4.10 ERA and 19 strikeouts. Swinford is 1-1 on the season with a 4.96 ERA.

SCOUTING SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE
Southeast Missouri State is 2-3 on the year and has not played since Feb. 11. The Redhawks offense has been strong with five players hitting better that .300, led by Abby Tillotson, who is hitting .400. Sarah Messex is second on the team, hitting .333 and has Southeast Missouri State's only home run and a team-high four RBI.

The Redhawks have used five pitchers this season with Haley Thogmartin having thrown the most innings (9.0). Thogmartin also leads the team with seven strikeouts. Rachel Rook has the team's best ERA at 1.40.

SCOUTING EASTERN ILLINOIS
Eastern Illinois is riding a five-game winning streak, sweeping a five-game schedule at Gardner-Webb last weekend. The Panthers are 7-3 overall on the season.

The Panthers' offense has been top-notch early this season having scored 46 runs and hitting six long balls. Haley Mitchell is the top bat in the lineup, hitting .400 and leading the team in hits (12), doubles (5), home runs (3) and RBI (15). Mitchell is slugging .867 on the season.

In the circle, Jessica Wireman has been sharp, posting a 4-0 record and 1.40 ERA so far. Wireman also has 39 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. Behind Wireman, Michelle Rogers has tarted five games and holds a 2.07 ERA and 3-2 record.

SCOUTING UT-MARTIN
UT-Martin is 3-6 on the year and lost five in a row before a 7-2 win in its last outing. Julie Duncan leads the Skyhawks with a .379 batting average. Aeron Smith is tops on the squad with seven RBI and four doubles. Gracyn McBride has two of the three home runs UT-Martin has hit this year.

Hannah Ridolfi leads UT-Martin in the circle with a 1.77 ERA and 2-2 record. Caitlin Karo is second on the team with a 2.96 ERA and leads the pitching staff with 10 strikeouts.
