INDIANAPOLIS - A thunderstorm caused the suspension of IUPUI's matchup with Butler with the Jags in the lead 2-0 at the beginning of the fifth inning. The two teams will try to finish the game at a later date.

IUPUI took the lead in the top of the fourth after a Maggie Good sacrifice fly scored Roni Patterson who walked and moved to third on a Taylor Chitwood bunt. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded and two outs, Sarah Lawrence drove a ball back up the middle to bring home Chitwood and give the Jags the 2-0 lead. 

The Jags got great pitching from Nickole Finch who started the game for IUPUI. Finch did not give up her first hit of the game until the fourth inning when Butler loaded the bases with no outs. Finch got out of the jam with of her seven strikeouts and two ground outs to end the threat before the rain and lightning began.

The Jags will be back in action with a three game series against North Dakota State this Saturday and Sunday.
