Box Score
INDIANAPOLIS – Behind a .486 team hitting percentage, the third-highest single-game hitting percentage in school history for a three-set match, the IUPUI volleyball team powered past Centenary (25-16, 25-12, 25-10) on Parents Night Friday evening at The Jungle.
The win upped the Jaguars record to 7-19 overall and 6-8 in the Summit League, while the Ladies dropped to 3-18 and 0-13 in the Summit League.
Fogler did not meet the minimum kill requirements to crack the single-match record books, but Anglemyer’s .786 percentage (11-0-14) placed her second on the IUPUI single-game hitting percentage chart. Anglemyer’s 11 kills also were a career high and marked her first career double-figure kill performance.
The offensive onslaught began with the teams tied at seven in the first set and a
Dana Gardner kill kick started a run that eventually resulted in the Jaguars owning a 20-10 lead. IUPUI closed out the 25-16 opening set win and continued its efficient offensive play in the second set.
With the score knotted at five in set two, Gardner, Anglemyer, and
Moriah Fair recorded kills in addition to a Ladies attack error giving the Jaguars a 9-5 lead, forcing a Centenary timeout. Out of the timeout, the run continued as IUPUI stretched its lead to 14-5, before a mini three-point Centenary run closed its deficit to six points, 14-8. From that point, Anglemyer helped score five of IUPUI’s next six points and the Jaguars lead stretched to 20-10, before the squad took the second-set, 25-12.
Out of the 10-minute intermission, the Jaguars took a commanding lead from the start and opened a 20-4 lead thanks in part to five kills and two service aces from Reimbold. The Jaguars then closed the door on Centenary with a 25-10 third-set triumph.
The Jaguars return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 30, when they host Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. at The Jungle.
