GRACE PURICHIA NAMED #HLVB PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The junior led the Jags to back-to-back wins over Eastern Michigan and Butler

INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indy volleyball junior, Grace Purichia earns her second Horizon League Player of the Week award of the season after leading the Jags to back-to-back wins over Eastern Michigan and Butler while also taking a set from No. 11 Purdue.
 
Purichia averaged 11.54 assists per set in the three Jaguars contests combined as well as 2.46 digs per set and a total of two aces and three kills. The setter from New Albany, Ind. totaled a Horizon League's single game-high 58 assists with 10 digs and two kills in the Jags' five-set win over Butler. Purichia also collected the highest number of assists in four sets in the league this season against Purdue with 47, as well as the second highest with 45 against Eastern Michigan.
 
Following the matches against Butler and Eastern Michigan, Purichia was named to the Butler Invite All-Tournament Team.
 
This marks the second #HLVB Player of the Week award for Purichia this season and third for her career. The IU Indy volleyball team will now open Horizon League play this weekend as they travel to Dayton, Ohio to take on the Wright State Raiders in back-to-back matches on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6:00 PM followed by a 2:00 PM start on Saturday, Sept. 27.
