DAYTON, Ohio – The IU Indianapolis volleyball team battled hard but came up short in Horizon League play Saturday afternoon, falling to Wright State 3-1 (20–25, 25–17, 19–25, 18–25) inside the C.J. McLin Gymnasium.
The Jaguars (6–8, 0–2 Horizon) showed resilience in the second set to even the match, but the Raiders (8–5, 2–0 Horizon) used timely blocks and steady serving to secure the home victory.
Morgan Ostrowski led IU Indy's attack, hitting .414 with a match-high 13 kills while adding four block assists, one solo block, and four service aces to finish with 20 points.

Jillian Tippmann each tallied 10 kills, with Tippmann also adding an ace and a block assist.
Grace Purichia directed the offense with 37 assists, contributing six digs and three block assists as well.
Laura Roeder anchored the back row with 11 digs and chipped in an ace.
As a team, the Jaguars posted 45 kills, seven aces, and six total blocks while digging 50 balls. However, 18 service errors proved costly in key stretches.
In set one, Wright State built momentum early, pulling away late for a 25–20 win despite strong swings from Ostrowski. IU Indy responded in the second set with its sharpest frame, hitting .290 behind Purichia's setting. Tippmann and Long combined for big kills as the Jags rolled to a 25–17 win.
The Raiders regained control in the third set with a serving run and four team blocks, holding IU Indy to just eight kills in a 25–19 decision.
In the fourth and final set, Ostrowski continued to shine offensively, but Wright State capitalized on Jaguar errors to close out the match 25–18.
IU Indy returns home for a midweek matchup, continuing Horizon League play as the Jaguars host Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
