WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Sophomores
Nick Cook and
Alec Hueftle had the opportunity to compete against the nation's elite as the Jaguars began efforts at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday night (Apr. 16). Cook opened the Jaguars' participation by running the 800m event while Hueftle followed with a 3,000m steeplechase entry.
Cook clocked a time of 1:54.13 to earn a runner-up finish in his heat. Later in the evening, Hueftle spun a personal best time of 9:22.87 in the steeple, finishing seventh in his race and shedding a second off his prior best. His time was five seconds faster than his previous best this season.
The Jaguars will return to action on Friday (Apr. 17) with three entries at Wake Forest and another group competing at Indiana Wesleyan.
