SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The IU Indy softball team will open the 2026 season this weekend, February 6-8, with a five-game invite. The Jags travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina for the Terrier Invite hosted by Wofford. IU Indy will face Kent State, Monmouth and Wofford.
 
The Jags were picked second in the Horizon League Preseason Poll behind Robert Morris for the 2026 season after finishing in third last season. Head coach Elisabeth Beirne enters her tenth season leading the Jags, following a 22-27 season. IU Indy will look to build on their momentum this season as they return the majority on their starting lineup, including Horizon League Player of the Year Molly Kable.
 
IU Indy will kick off the weekend on Friday, Feb. 6 when they face Kent State at 10:00 AM. Following that game, the Jags will then play Monmouth at 12:30 PM. On Saturday, the Jags begin play at 10:00 AM against Kent State again followed by a 3:00 PM first pitch against host Wofford. IU Indy will close out the weekend against Monmouth on Sunday, Feb. 8 with a 10:00 AM game.
