INDIANAPOLIS - Select members of the IU Indy men's track team will compete at the Fairgrounds Invitational this weekend with runners earmarked for the 3,000m event on Friday (Feb. 6) and 800m and mile on Saturday (Feb. 7).
Interim head coach
Justin Amburgy's squad will have 10 runners compete in the 3K on Friday with five in the open division and five others entered in the collegiate division. Sophomore
Sam Grimes headlines the group in the collegiate division, having run 8:32.58 and classmate
Joey LaPatra enters with a personal best time of 8:37.07.
TJ Gorman is the quickest team entry in the open division, having run 8:54.07.
On Saturday,
Zane Schorr is the lone entry in the mile, aiming to lower his personal best time of 4:20.46. Later in the day, four Jags will compete in the 800m event, keyed by
Jay Pillai and
Liam Lilly. Pillai owns a personal best time of 1:56.51 and Lilly ran 1:56.59 earlier this season.
