LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 10), carding rounds of 317 and 309 on the opening day of the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate on the Blue Course at Wigwam Resort. The Jaguars are tied for 13th among the 15-team field heading into Wednesday's final round. 

Freshman Li (Sherry) Xia paced the Jags on day one with rounds of 71 and 75 and is tied for 22nd among the 84-player field. Senior Yanah Rolston is next in line at 156 (78-78) and freshman Emma Frauhiger sits at 162 (86-76). Fellow freshman Olivia Aronhalt ended her day at 163 (82-81) and sophomore Alexandra Chiew rounded out the lineup at 167 (87-80). 

After opening round one with a double bogey, Xia was nearly flawless in her opening 18, later mixing four birdies with two bogeys to get back to an even par 71. Rolston fired a round of 78 and both Aronhalt and Frauhiger were countable at 82 and 86, respectively. Chiew had a pair of birdies in her opening round 87. 

The Jags had a more steady effort in round two with Xia shooting 75 and Frauhiger closing at 76 as each made three birdies during the second round. Rolston recorded a round of 78 and Chiew posted a countable 80. Aronhalt was just off her pace at 81. 

Xia led the field in par 3 scoring on day one, playing them to 3-under through 36 holes. 

UTEP leads the field at 568 and UT Arlington is second overall at 575. Individually UTEP's Atikan Cherdchoo is atop the leaderboard at 3-under 139 (68-71) and holds a one-shot lead over Toledo's Brooklyn Millard.

The Jags will be grouped with Providence, Tennessee Tech and Toledo for Wednesday's finale and begin tee times at 12:20 p.m. MT.
