RICHMOND, Ky. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team posted a final round 318 at the EKU Colonel Classic on Tuesday (Mar. 31) en route to a sixth-place finish among the 10-team field at 958 (323-317-318). Senior
Yanah Rolston finished off a top-10 finish at 232 (76-76-80) for her second top-10 of the season.
Freshman
Li (Sherry) Xia paced the Jags on Tuesday with a final round, 4-over 76 and sophomore
Lexi Stuart posted a final round 77. Both Xia and Stuart had two birdies each in their final rounds, as did Rolston as part of her round of 80.
"I wanted to compete on every shot and that mindset kept me calm, patient and focused the entire round," Stuart said following her best round of the season.
Sophomore
Cassidy Ayres checked in at 85 and freshman
Olivia Aronhalt posted a final round 86. Senior
Reagan Sohn closed her tournament with a round of 82 while playing as an individual.
The Jaguars finished second overall with 24 birdies as a team with Rolston and Xia providing five apiece. Rolston also finished the 54-hole tournament with a team-high 29 pars.
Behind Rolston, Xia was second among the lineup at 237 (82-79-76), tying for 21st among the 63-player field.
Youngstown State overtook host EKU on the final day for the team title, finishing the event at 920 to beat the Colonels by a single shot. YSU's Neeranuch Prajunpanich collected medalist honors at 221, topping the field by a single stroke.
The Jaguars will close out the regular season on Saturday, Apr. 18 when they host the Lady Jaguar Invitational at The Trophy Club in Lebanon, Ind.
