INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's track team registered six new personal bests as the Jaguars wrapped up the two-day Hoosier Horsepower Classic at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Sophomore
Sam Grimes led the team's four entrants in the mile with a runner-up finish in his heat with a personal best time of 4:17.94.
Later in the day, true freshman
Liam Lilly made his collegiate debut with a personal best time of 1:56.59 in the 800m event.
Sophomore
Joey LaPatra spun a personal best time of 4:18.51 in the mile while freshman
Michael Zegarski crossed at 4:20.54 in his collegiate debut. Another rookie,
Caleb Webb, also made his collegiate debut with a time of 4:26.28 in the mile.
Less than an hour later, LaPatra capped a tough double with a time of 1:59.67 in the 800m event.
The Jags will be back in action next weekend when they compete inside the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Crossroads of America Classic.
