HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team carded a second round 340 at the Horizon League Championships on Sunday (Apr. 20) and are sixth among the eight-team field entering Monday's finale.
Freshman
Cassidy Ayres carded a team-best, 10-over 83 and
Nina Wojtczak shot 84.
Yanah Rolston closed at 85 and junior
Reagan Sohn was countable at 88. Sophomore
Sydni Zebrauskas ended her day at 89.
The Jaguars just never got comfortable on Sunday as Ayres and Wojtczak had a team-high two birdies each. Ayres had three pars early in her round on way to 42 at the turn.
Wojtczak, Sohn and Zebrauskas each shot a team-best 41 on the front nine.
However, the back proved to be more challenging as Ayres closed with a 41 to lead the way and Rolston closed at 42. After the Jaguars had a string of pars on No. 11, things were decidedly different from there.
For the tournament, Wojtczak is tied for 15th overall at 161 (77-84) and both Rolston and Sohn are tied for 28th at 169.
Purdue Fort Wayne leads the team scoring by one shot over Youngstown State while YSU's Neeranuch Prajunpanich is the individual low scorer at 3-over for the week. Monday's final round will begin at noon.
