INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy softball team hosts the Youngstown State Penguins for a three-game series this weekend. The Jags welcome the Penguins for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12 with a single game to follow on Sunday, April 13.
IU Indy enters the weekend with an overall record of 13-23 and a 7-8 mark in Horizon League play. The return to Indy after a 1-2 series at Northern Kentucky. The Jags dropped the first two games of the series but finished strong with a 12-4 win.
Junior
Molly Kable continues to lead the Jags at the plate, hitting .382 with 29 RBI, 10 doubles and four home runs.
Morgan Gilbert follows with a .333 batting average with 28 runs and 12 RBI.
The Penguins enter the weekend 11-30 overall with a 3-9 mark in conference. Lydia Wilkerson leads Youngstown State's offense with a .380 batting average and 22 RBI. Kelsey Ogin seems to be the ace for the Penguins in the circle with a 4.89 ERA with 61 strikeouts, collecting four wins.
IU Indy will kick off the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12. Game one is set for 1:00 PM with game two to follow. Sunday's single game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM first pitch.
