BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IU Indy softball team is staying put in Indiana as they head south for a five-game road invitational (March. 7-9) as they travel to Bloomington, Ind. for the Hoosier Classic. Over a series of three days the Jags will take on UIC, Indiana, Western Michigan, and Bowling Green.
IU Indy is coming off a 0-5 weekend from the Spring in the Springs Invitational where they took on Chattanooga, Gardner-Webb, and Stony Brook.
Junior Molly Kable led the way for the Jags racking up seven hits and five RBI over a five game span. Morgan Gilbert and Kennedy Cowan both tallied up four hits each. Kable had her breakout day on Sunday against Stony Brook, where she had three hits, two RBI, and one run scored. Gilbert and Cowan added two hits each against Garner-Webb with Gilbert scoring the only run.
The Jags will kick off the weekend on Friday, March. 7 when they face UIC at 10 AM. Following a break, IU Indy will return to play the Hoosiers at 3 PM.
On Saturday, March. 8 The Jags will start the day against the Broncos of Western Michigan at 9:30 AM. After a small break, IU Indy will wrap up the day against Bowling Green at 12 PM.
IU Indy will kick off the final day March. 9 with a second game against Western Michigan beginning at 12:30 PM.
