OXFORD, Ohio - The IU Indianapolis men's track team will open its outdoor season on Saturday (Mar. 21) when the Jaguars compete at Miami's Blizzard Buster at the George L. Rider Track. Head coach
Justin Roeder's squad will have athletes compete in the 800m, 1,500m and 3,000m events to start the season.
In all, 10 Jaguars will make their outdoor debuts this weekend.
The Jaguars will load up in the 1,500m event with 12 different athletes spread across two different heats. Graduate
Nate Kaiser sat out the indoor season, but looks to kickoff a strong outdoor slate as the team's headliner in the 1,500. He comes in with a personal best time of 3:55.86 while
Noah Price owns a personal best time of 3:59.53.
In the 800m event, sophomore
Luke Shappell is the school record holder with a time of 1:53.01 and
Jay Pillai owns a best time of 1:57.54.
Freshman
Cameron Smith is the team's lone entrant in the 3,000m event.
