JAGUARS TO HEAD TO BROOK VALLEY FOR ECU INTERCOLLEGIATE

Jaguars to compete on Monday (Mar. 17) and Tuesday (Mar. 18)

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team will be in action this week when the Jaguars participate in the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Golf Club in Greenville, N.C. The Jaguars opened the spring with an 11th place finish at the World Golf Village College in St. Augustine, Fla., on Feb. 24-25 with a weather shortened 616 (314-302). Brady Schier finished tied for 24th overall at 8-over 152 (78-74) while Morgan Tournemire checked in at 9-over 153 (78-75). 

For the season, Schier leads the regulars with a 74.20 scoring average, having played 15 rounds on the year. Titus Boswell is next in line at 74.33 and Sam McWilliams has a 74.56 stroke average. 

The team is currently ranked No. 227 nationally with a 297.44 scoring average. The Jaguars earned a runner-up finish at the Cleveland State Invitational earlier this fall with three players shooting par or better. 

THE COURSE
Brook Valley Golf Club was founded in 1966 and has a rich history, including an exhibition match between legends Sam Snead and Ben Hogan. The property was reopened in 2015 with extensive renovations to bring its original beauty back into a new era. The course is set to par-72 and 6,831 yards this week. 

THE FIELD
The 17-team field includes Auburn, Barton College, Bellarmine, Central Florida, Columbia, Connecticut, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Fairleigh Dickinson, Gardner-Webb, IU Indy, Morehead State, Oakland, Old Dominion, Queens University, Temple and West Georgia.

LAST TIME OUT
The Jaguars placed 11th of 16 teams at the World Golf Village Collegiate, carding a 36-hole 616 (314-302) in St. Augustine, Fla. Schier led the way at 8-over 152 (78-74) while Tournemire shot 9-over 153 (78-75).

IU Indy will compete at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational at Highland Golf and Country Club on Mar. 31-Apr. 1.
