JAGUARS COLLECT FIFTH-PLACE FINISH AT JACKRABBIT INVITATIONAL

Junior Brady Schier finishes tied for eighth among the 72-player field

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team finished off a fifth-place finish at this week's Jackrabbit Invitational, hosted by South Dakota State at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Jaguars carded a final round, even par 288 on Tuesday (Mar. 10) to finish the 11-team event in fifth-place at 869 (281-300-288). 

Three Jaguars shot par or better on Tuesday, led by Titus Boswell's round of 2-under 70. Behind him, Brady Schier and Noah Kirsch both posted 1-under 71 and Keaton Parmley rounded out the scoring group at 4-over 76. Freshman Jack Scudder shot 5-over 77 to cap the lineup. 

The Jaguars finished strong as Boswell made birdie on his final two holes of the day and Schier went birdie-birdie-par on his final three. Kirsch also closed with a birdie as the Jaguars feasted on the par-5, 533-yard No. 5 down the stretch. 

Both Boswell and Kirsch had a team-high five birdies on Tuesday while Kirsch made three. 

Schier collected his first top-10 finish of the season at 2-under 214 (73-70-71) for the week and Boswell tied for 19th overall at even par 216 (67-79-70). Kirsch closed the tournament at 221 (69-81-71). 

Schier tied for the tournament lead with 16 birdies for the week while Boswell made 13. 

Host SDSU won the tournament at 847 while Youngstown State was second at 851. Morehaed State's Seamus Bogan earned medalist honors at 12-under 204, winning the title by six shots. 

The Jaguars will return to action on Mar. 30-31 when they compete in Butler's Don Benbow Invitational at Highland Golf and Country Club.
