Titus Boswell capped off his sixth top-10 finish of the season on Tuesday (Mar. 31) with a final round, 1-under 69 at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational at Highland Country Club.
Boswell helped the Jaguars to a final round 283 as the squad was unable to budge from sixth-place over the final 18 holes, finishing at 856 (283-290-283).
Boswell was at or under par the entire final round, making birdie on his fourth hole of the day before giving a shot back with a bogey on No. 10. He regained a shot with a birdie on No. 12 before making bogey on No. 17. He ultimately finished with a birdie on his final hole of the tournament to get to 3-under 207 (69-69-69) for the event.
Keaton Parmley chimed in with an even par 70 with four birdies on Tuesday and
Noah Kirsch shot 2-over 72, including playing his final 11 holes to 1-under. Freshman
Jack Scudder also shot 2-over 72 while
Brady Schier finished at 6-over 76.
"I played pretty well this week for the most part," Parmley said. "The biggest difference for me was the short game. I struggled off the tee this event, but dialing in the speed on the greens helped me make more putts. It felt good to put some good scores up."
Senior
Preston Broce was tops among the individuals at 3-over 73 and
Noah Parsetich shot 6-over 76.
Host Butler won the event by eight shots over second-place SIUE at 826 and Butler's Leo Zurovac collected medalist honors at 9-under 201.
The Jaguars will return to action on Apr. 6-7 when they participate in NKU's Jewell Invitational at Elks Run in Batavia, Ohio.
