JAGUARS TO PARTICIPATE IN BUTLER'S DON BENBOW INVITATIONAL

Men's golf slated for 54 holes at nearby Highland Golf & Country Club

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team will compete locally this week when the Jaguars participate in Butler's Don Benbow Invitational at Highland Golf & Country Club. The tournament is slated for 36 holes on Monday (Mar. 30) and a final round on Tuesday (Mar. 31). Play will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. both days. 

The Jaguars played to a fifth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational earlier this month with a 5-over 869 (281-300-288), including two rounds of par or better as a team. The Jags' opening round 7-under 281 was a season best while the final round, even par 288 was the team's second best of the year. Junior Brady Schier earned a top-10 finish at 2-under 214 and classmate Titus Boswell finished at even par 216. 

For the season, Boswell has a team-best 71.38 scoring average and .878 winning percentage while Keaton Parmley has a 75.05 stroke average. As a team, the Jaguars have a 296.25 stroke average and four top-five finishes this season. 

THE COURSE
Highland Country Club is one of the oldest courses in Central Indiana and will play par 70 this week. The course boasts a 100+ year history and was the city's first municipal course in 1900. 

THE FIELD
The field consists of Butler, Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Green Bay, Indian Hills, IU Indianapolis, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, SIUE, Southern Indiana, and Youngstown State. Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, and West Virginia are listed as having individuals (but not a full team) playing.

The Jaguars finished fifth at the Jackrabbit Invitational with a 54-hole 869, playing the tournament to 5-over par. Schier led the way at 2-under 214 and Boswell shot even par 216. 

UP NEXT
The Jags will return to action on Apr. 6-7 when they compete in Northern Kentucky's Jewell Invitational at Elks Run Golf Club.
