NORMAL, Ill. - The IUPUI women's golf team will kickoff the 2023-24 campaign this weekend when the Jaguars compete in the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State at Weibring Golf Course. The tournament is scheduled for 54 holes spread over two days, beginning with two rounds on Sunday (Sept. 10). The final round will take place on Monday (Sept. 11).
The Jaguars will roll out a veteran lineup to start the year with all five having played in last year's Horizon League Championships.
Shelby Busker starts the year at the No. 1 spot and sports a 78.2 lifetime average in 68 career rounds. Behind her,
Madeleine Pape will play at No. 2 with a 78.7 stroke average and junior
Nerea Lancho is in the No. 3 spot with a 78.2 stroke average.
Annaliese Fox, a first team All-Horizon League performer last season, will start the year at the No. 4 spot in the lineup and sophomore
Reagan Sohn earned the No. 5 position. Sophomore
Yanah Rolston will play as an individual this week.
IUPUI's lone newcomer, freshman
Nina Wojtczak, comes to the program from Luxemburg and has ranked as high as No. 909 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
FORMAT: Teams will play 5-count-4 format with two rounds on Sunday (Sept. 10) and a final round on Monday (Sept. 11). Play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start each day.
THE COURSE: Weibring Golf Course ill play to par 72 and 6,093 yards this week. Weibring was designed in 1962 by golf course architect Robert Bruce Harris and originally designed with a regulation length 9 hole course along the outside edges of the property with a shorter executive length 9 hole course in the middle.
THE FIELD: The field will include
Illinois State, Bowling Green, Bradley, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Illinois Wesleyan, Indiana State, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Thomas and Valparaiso.
RANKINGS: According to Spikemark, this year's initial rankings will not be released until Oct. 15.

LAST TIME OUT: IUPUI finished out the 2022-23 campaign with a fourth-place finish at the Horizon League Championships with a 54-hole 936 (312-318-306). Busker finished tenth overall at 231 (74-81-76) and
Kara Blair and Fox tied for 13th overall.
UP NEXT: IUPUI will participate in Ball State's Cardinal Classic on Sept. 18-19.
