INDIANAPOLIS – After the weekend games against Oakland were postponed due to the cold, IUPUI will host the Golden Grizzlies in a doubleheader to open Horizon League play on Tuesday, March 21 with first pitch of game one set for 1:00 PM. After the doubleheader on Tuesday, IUPUI will travel across town to face Butler on Wednesday, March 22 at 5:00 PM.
 
The Jags are 3-14 entering Tuesday's matchup after falling to Indiana State in back-to-back games last Tuesday. Freshman Kennedy Cowan leads IUPUI at the plate, batting .381 (16-for-42) with five RBI, three home runs, three doubles and nine runs. Sophomore Kendal Calvert started the season late due to injury but since her return she is hitting .438 (7-for-16) with a triple, a double, three RBI and two runs. Jaida Speth has played in all 17 games and is currently hitting .349 (15-for-43) with a team-high six doubles.
 
On the mound, Madison Bryant leads the Jags with a team-high 49 strikeouts with a 3.98 ERA, despite not recording a win all season with a record of 0-6. Alexa Holman holds a 3.97 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 24.2 innings of work.
 
Oakland enters the weekend 4-6 with wins over UT Martin, Valparaiso, Winthrop and Penn. Redshirt Junior Sydney Campbell is one win away from holding the Oakland school record for all-time wins by any Golden Grizzly pitcher. She currently has three wins on the season.
 
After the doubleheader on Tuesday, the Jags will travel to Butler for a 5:00 PM first pitch. The Bulldogs are 8-18 on the season and hold a 23-7 all-time record over the Jags.
