BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The IUPUI softball team travels to Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Bulldog Classic this weekend. The Jags will play four games in three days with two games against host team, Samford and one game against Southern Indiana and North Alabama each.
The three-day tournament begins when IUPUI faces Samford on Friday at 6:00 PM. The Bulldogs enter the weekend 2-7 overall with wins over Seton Hall and Ball State. After their matchup on Friday, the Jags will once again play Samford on Saturday at 4:00 PM. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Following the 4:00 PM game, IUPUI will play in-state foe, Southern Indiana with a first pitch at 6:30 PM. The Screaming Eagles are 2-1 with two wins over Green Bay. On Sunday, the Jags will face North Alabama at 3:00 PM. The Lions enter the weekend with the best record out of all the teams at 6-1. North Alabama has earned wins over Mississippi Valley State, Bradley, Tennessee State and Alabama A&M.
The Jags are 1-7 and will look to improve their record this weekend.
