ROCHESTER, Mich. – The IUPUI softball team closes out the regular season with a five-game road trip. They travel to Michigan for a doubleheader on May 4 at Oakland with the first game starting at 12:00 PM. Then the Jags head to UIC for a three-game series with the first game on Friday, May 6 at 5:00 PM and a doubleheader on Saturday, May 7 at 1:00 PM.
 
The Jags entered the week 10-35 overall and 7-14 in Horizon League play. They are currently in eighth in the conference fighting for the sixth-place finish for a spot in the tournament.
 
Rachael Gregory leads the team at the plate batting .297 (38-for-128) with 16 runs and 15 RBI. Hailey Pop is right behind her batting .271 (26-for-96) with 11 RBI, two doubles and one home run. Jaylin Calvert adds 13 RBI for the Jags. Madison Bryant posts a 3.08 ERA (58er/132.0ip) with a team-high 158 strikeouts. Isabelle Waggner has a 3.93 ERA (38er/67.2ip) with 18 strikeouts.
 
Oakland enters the week 20-13 overall and 15-5 in conference. Lauren Griffith leads the Golden Grizzles batting .376 (35-for-93) with 14 doubles and 25 RBI. Madison Jones is batting .325 (37-for-114) with 29 runs, four doubles, 17 RBI and a team-high six home runs. Sydney Campbell leads the team on the mound with a 1.77 ERA (42er/166.1ip) with a team-high 129 strikeouts in 33 appearances.
 
After the doubleheader on Wednesday against Oakland the Jags travel to Chicago to face UIC for three games.
 
UIC enters the weekend currently 11-30 overall and 8-14 in conference. They face Louisville on Wednesday. Tara McElligott leads the Flames batting .327 (35-for-107) with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 22 RBI. Maica Ingles is batting .301 (37-for-123) with 26 runs, eight RBI and three doubles. Christina Toniolo posts a 4.86 ERA (56er/103.2ip) with 59 strikeouts in 28 appearances.
 
IUPUI will face Oakland tomorrow, Wednesday May 4 for two games at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Then they face UIC on May 6^th and 7^th. Coverage on the games at UIC will be on ESPN+.
