INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI returns home to host the Northern Kentucky Norse for a three-game series this weekend. The Jags play one game on Friday (April 22) at 3:00 PM and a doubleheader on Saturday (April 23) with the first game starting at 1:00 PM.
IUPUI enters the weekend 9-29 overall and 6-9 in conference play. Freshman
Kendal Calvert leads the team at the plate batting .310 (36-for-116) with three doubles, two triples and five RBI.
Rachael Gregory is another consistent bat for the Jags batting .305 (32-for-105) with seven doubles, one home run and 14 RBI.
Maicey Bedrick leads the team with 16 RBI.
Madison Bryant holds a team-best 2.85 ERA (45er/110.2ip) with a dominating 124 strikeouts. Freshman
Isabelle Waggner enters the weekend with a 3.65 ERA (28er/53.2ip) and 16 strikeouts.
The Norse enter the series with an overall record of 18-24 and a record of 7-11 in the Horizon League. Senior Kendal McKeough leads the conference in home runs with 10 and adds 11 doubles and 25 RBI for the Norse. Her .305 batting average (39-for-128) leads NKU at the plate.
Alicia Flores posts a 3.35 ERA (38er/79.1ip) with 82 strikeouts while Madisyn Eads holds a 3.39 ERA (51er/105.1ip) with 66 strikeouts. Lauryn Hicks has struck out a team-high 96 batters in 84.1 innings pitched.
IUPUI looks to improve their overall and Horizon League record with the three-game series. The Jags are 11-6 overall in past games with the Norse.
