Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Jaguars gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to loss the lead and ultimately fall to Butler in today's finale of the Blues City Classic, 5-4. Graduate student 
Hailey Pop led the IUPUI softball team batting 2-for-3 with two RBI.
 
IUPUI got on the board first with one run in the top of the first inning. 
Victoria Sivert and 
Rachael Gregory both singled to put runners on first and second. Pop singled up the middle to score Sivert and give the Jags the early lead, 1-0.
 
With a two-run home run from Monique Hoosen in the bottom of the second inning, the Bulldogs took the lead, 2-1. That lead didn't last long as the Jags scored three runs in the top of the third inning. After IUPUI loaded the bases, Pop singled to shortstop to score 
Kendal Calvert and collect her second RBI of the game. With the bases still loaded, Gregory scored on a fielder's choice hit by 
Abbey Haas and 
Jaylin Calvert was hit by pitch to allow 
Maicey Bedrick to score and extend the Jags lead to 4-2.
 
The Jaguars held the lead until the bottom of the sixth frame when Butler scored three runs on three hits to retake the lead 5-4.
 
Pop collected two RBI on two hits, 
Kendal Calvert went 2-for-4 with one run while Sivert and Gregory also recorded hits on the day. 
Isabelle Waggner took her first loss of the season on the mound giving up three runs (one unearned) on six hits in 4.2 innings of relief. She fanned three batters in the loss.
 
The Jags are now 2-17 and return home to Indy to begin conference play against Cleveland State in their home opener on Friday, March 11 at 3:00 PM. They follow that up with a double header on Saturday, March 12 against the Vikings with the first game starting at 1:00 PM
