INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI softball will take the field at home for the final time this season with four games against UIC over the weekend. The Jags and Flames will play doubleheaders on both Friday (April 30) and Saturday (May 1).

QUICK HITTERS
Morgan Gilbert sits on top of the lineup with a .296 batting average, leading the team with 37 hits and is second on the team with 15 runs scored. Gilbert has been impressive on the base paths going 16-fo-18 in stolen base attempts. Gilbert is riding a nine-game hitting streak and has gotten a hit in 11 of her last 12 games.
Lauren Youngblood is hitting .263 and has scored a team-high 16 runs. Youngblood is 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts this year.
Kasie Keyes has upped her batting average to .270 after collecting four hits against Northern Kentucky last weekend. Keyes has tallied three doubles and seven RBI this season.
Jenah Speth leads the Jaguar lineup with five home runs, 15 RBI and 21 walks. She is second on the team with seven doubles and has scored 14 runs.
Maicey Bedrick leads the Jaguar lineup with eight doubles and has three home runs and 14 RBI.
Tori Sivert had an impressive weekend against Northern Kentucky. The freshman collected seven hits, including her first-career home run against the Norse.
Jennah Speth holds the best ERA on the pitching staff at 3.07 and has struck out 94 batters in 107 innings pitched.
Lexi Lucas sits at 6-9 on the season with a 3.48 ERA and has 63 strikeouts to just 12 walks in 112.2 innings pitched.
SCOUTING UIC
UIC comes in to the weekend series with a record of 23-17 overall and 20-10 in the Horizon League. The Flames sit in second in the league standings after dropping three of four games at Oakland last weekend. This will be the final weekend of league play for the Flames as their last weekend against Detroit Mercy has been cancelled.
UIC is led by Kayla Wedl who is one of, if not the best player in the Horizon League. Wedl leads the league in runs (48), hits (56), RBI (41), Doubles (13), triples (8), home runs (10), stolen bases (23) and slugging percentage (.852). Wedl is second in the league in batting average (.415) and on base percentage (.474).
All four pitchers for UIC have a sub-4.00 ERA with Marley Hanlon leading the way at 1.68. Christina Toniolo leads UIC with an 11-5 record and 54 strikeouts in 109 innings pitched.
THIS SEASON AGAINST UIC
This will be the second series against the Flames as IUPUI played at two-game midweek set back on April 6. The Jags lost both games with the first one being a 6-1 loss before falling 3-2 in nine innings in the second game.
