HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – IUPUI softball will travel to Northern Kentucky for four games against the Norse over the weekend. Due to the weather forecast the series will have doubleheaders on both Friday (April 23) and Sunday (April 25).

QUICK HITTERS
IUPUI is coming off of a win in its last game, beating Robert Morris 5-4. The Jags entered the seventh inning down 4-1 but a three-run home run from
Maicey Bedrick tied the game. With the bases loaded,
Morgan Gilbert, celebrating her birthday, drove home the winning run with a single up the middle.
With the win, IUPUI is now 3-4 in its last seven games after a six-game losing streak.
The top two bats in the lineup are freshman for IUPUI with
Lauren Youngblood leading the way at .290 and
Morgan Gilbert just behind at .283.
Jordan Barnes is hitting .321 on the season but has not played in enough games to qualify.
Jaida Speth is riding a four-game hitting streak, including a 2-for-3 day at the plate in the last game against the Colonials. Speth has increased her average to .253 on the season and is second on the team with 22 hits.
Jennah Speth is tops on the team with five home runs and 18 walks. Her 13 RBI are second on the team behind Bedrick, who has 14.
Gilbert leads the team with a five-game hitting streak.
Abbey Haas has the longest current reached base streak at eight. Haas is now hitting .260 on the season with nine RBI.
Jennah Speth is leading the team with a 3.32 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 95 innings pitched. Speth is tied with
Lexi Lucas at five wins. Lucas holds a 3.54 ERA and has allowed just 11 walks in 104.2 innings.

SCOUTING NORTHERN KENTUCKY
The Norse come in to the game with a record of 9-12 overall and 8-14 in Horizon League play. NKU split a four-game series against Purdue Fort Wayne last weekend, dropping the final contest of the series 3-1.
Kendyl McKeough is leading the Norse lineup with a .321 batting average and is second on the team with six home runs. McKeough is tied for the team lead with 22 RBI.
Ava Lawson leads the team with seven home runs and three triples. She is tied for the team lead with 22 RBI and four doubles while hitting .291 on the year.
In the circle, Faith Howard holds a 2.15 EAR in 45.2 innings pitched. Lauryn Hicks leads the team with a 5-9 record, 80 strikeouts and 69.0 innings pitched while holding a 3.86 ERA.

IUPUI is 10-3 all-time against Northern Kentucky but dropped the last meeting against the Norse, a 3-1 loss in the 2019 Horizon League Championship. Before the loss, IUPUI had won five-straight meetings with Northern Kentucky, including all three meetings on the road in 2019.
