LOUISVILLE, Ky. – IUPUI softball is in action over the weekend for its last non-conference tournament of the year. The Jags will take on host Bellarmine for three games and Dayton for the other two games of the weekend.

ABOUT IUPUI
IUPUI is 0-5 on the season after its first weekend of play at Auburn. The Jags struggled in the first weekend of their season at the plate, hitting just .157 over the five games.
Jaida Speth led the Jags with a .333 average and was tied for the team lead with four hits and two RBI. Freshman
Morgan Gilbert is second on the team with a .250 average and four hits.
Lauren Youngblood is tied with Speth with two RBI over the first weekend.
Rachael Gregory finished with two hits and led IUPUI with a three walks on the season.
In the circle,
Lexi Lucas holds the top ERA on the team at 4.20 in a team-high 11.2 innings.
Jennah Speth is tops on the team with nine strikeouts in 11.1 innings pitched.
ABOUT BELLARMINE
Bellarmine enters the weekend 2-4 on the season and has lost three-straight games, including both games of a double header against Evansville on Wednesday (March 3).
The Knights are hitting .234 on the season with four players hitting over .300. Gwen Malecke is hitting .500 on the season, followed by Alexi Hargrove (.429) and Sydney Young (.421). Young leads the team with the only home run and five RBI.
Carson Goatley is the leader in the circle for Bellarmine with a 2.95 ERA, a 1-1 record and 19.0 innings pitched. Goatley has struck out 17 players to just eight walks.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton is 0-2 on the season with losses to USC Upstate but has not played a game since playing Upstate on Feb. 12. The Flyers will play one game against Bellarmine before taking on the Jags in Saturday (March. 6).
Megan Ward and Grace Gressly are the leaders on the team with .333 batting averages and three players each have two hits. Abby Ehrenborg is the other player on the team to have two hits, both of them have been home runs. Ehrenborg is also the leader on the team with three RBI.
Four pitches threw innings in the two games of the season for Dayton. Sarah Bailitz threw four innings without giving up a run and leads the team with four strikeouts.
