HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Head coach
Jamie Broce's women's golf team will open up the spring portion of the 2020 schedule this week when the Jaguars participate in the eight team Motor City Cup, being played at Mission Inn Resort, site of the 2020 Horizon League Championships. Broce's squad will play three matches over two days (Feb. 9-10) in a bracketed, match play event. The Jaguars are riding back-to-back Horizon League titles and capped the fall portion of the season with three straight tournament wins.
IUPUI won the nine-team APSU Intercollegiate with a score of 900 before then winning the nine-team NKU Collegiate Classic in Union, Ky., with a 36-hole 596. The Jags capped the fall with a win at the Braun Intercollegiate with a single round score of 313.
Senior
Marion Debove has been brilliant all season long with four tournament wins and a 72.42 scoring average in 12 countable rounds. Junior
Amelie Svejda owns five top-10 finishes and a 72.67 scoring average and sophomore
Kara Blair sits at 77.33. Junior
Nicole Howard is fourth on the squad with a 78.00 scoring average and
Reece Malapit returns from injury after being limited to just one round during the fall.
Sophomore
Annie Eisenbarth will round out the Jaguars' lineup in the No. 6 spot, having played eight rounds with an 88.50 stroke average during the fall. As a team, the Jaguars own a team scoring average of 300.42 through the fall.
IUPUI will open against Detroit Mercy and will then face either Loyola or Valparaiso in round two. Oakland, UIC, Creighton and Northern Kentucky represent the four teams on the opposite side of the bracket.
The Jags departed for Orlando on Friday, Feb. 7 and will play practice rounds on both Friday and Saturday before Sunday's opener.
