JAGUARS TRAVEL TO CLEVELAND STATE FOR A THREE-GAME SET

IUPUI will look to break a four-game skid with a three-game set against the Vikings beginning on Friday (April 19).

CLEVELAND – IUPUI softball is back on the road, looking to break a four-game losing streak, as the Jags will play a three-game set at Cleveland State beginning on Friday (April 19).

The first game against the Vikings will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday and the two teams will play a double header on Saturday (April 20) with first pitch set for 1 p.m.

The Jaguars have fallen to 8-8 in league play after losing their last four games, including a three-game sweep at the hands of UIC. In the series with the Flames, IUPUI was outscored 37-9 and gave up 10 home runs in the three game set. IUPUI has now allowed a league-high 24 home runs in conference play and 60 on the year.

Offensively, IUPUI is second in the Horizon League with 24 team home runs this year and the Jags have hit 14 home runs in league play. Mandy Dallas is the top home run hitter for the Jags with eight on the year. Dallas has also driven in a team-best 29 runs.

Freshman Jaida Speth leads the team with a .325 average and Delaney Thompson (.324) and McKenzie Loge (.305) are also hitting above .300. Loge and Thompson have done a lot of damage in league games as Loge leads the team with a .460 average and Thompson is hitting .411 while driving in a team-best 15 runs in the 16 conference games.

SCOUTING REPORT
Cleveland State has lost six-straight games, being swept by Detroit Mercy and Youngstown State in its last two Horizon League series. The Vikings sit at 3-9 in Horizon League play with their only wins being a three-game sweep against Green Bay.

Riley Ries is the top hitter for Cleveland State with a .311 average and leads the team with 22 RBI. Kelly Hysong is hitting .300 for the Vikings and leads the team with seven home runs. As a team, the Vikings have only hit 14 home runs while giving up 36.

Freshman Hannah Griffin has thrown the most innings for Cleveland State and holds a 6-12 record and 4.41 ERA. Hysong has thrown the second most innings and started the same amount of games as Griffin (16). Hysong has struck out 66 batters in 88.2 innings pitched and has a 4-10 record with a team-best 4.34 ERA.
