INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI softball will close out its regular season with a trip to Illinois on Tuesday (May 1).
The Jags will play the Fighting Illini after having their first two scheduled meetings moved due to weather.
The game against Illinois will begin at 6 p.m. ET and can be streamed on BTN2GO.
IUPUI is coming off of a 9-2 win over Detroit Mercy that closed out the Jags Horizon League season. The Jags now sit in sixth place in the standings but will have to wait until the end of next weekend to find out if they will make the Horizon League Championship.

th home run of the season, a grand slam, in the bottom of the first and finished the game with five RBI overall. Both #
Haley Ginger# and #
Adison Lorsung# drove in two runs and #
Delilah Wright# had a career-high four hits on a perfect 4-for-4 afternoon in her final home game and Jaguar.
Outside of a two-run second inning, #
Megan Overton# was her dominant self, allowing just four hits while striking out eight batters.
For the season, Wright leads the Jaguars with a .344 batting average. Dallas is second on the team with a .312 average and leads the team in runs scored (20), home runs (10) and RBI (33). Ginger (19) and Lorsung (17) are the only other Jags to have double-digit RBI.
ALL-TIME AGAINST ILLINOIS
The Jags will be looking for their first win against Illinois. The Fighting Illini have one all five meetings against IUPUI with the last meetings coming in 2016. In a double header on March 15, 2016, Illinois took the first game 8-0 in five innings and won the second game of the day 5-4 in eight innings.
SCOUTING ILLINOIS
Illinois enters the game with a 33-16 overall record and is 11-7 in Big Ten play. Illinois' offense is hitting .322 as a team and is led by Kiana Sherlund, who is hitting .403 with six doubles, eight triples and six home runs. Sherlund is also leading the team with 44 RBI. Illinois has four batters with six or more home runs, led by Maddi Doane with nine. Six batters in the Illinois lineup have more than 20 RBI.
In the circle, Illinois has a team ERA of 3.46. Taylor Edwards holds a 3.42 ERA with a 14-7 record in 20 starts. Emily Oestreich has logged the most innings with 125.1 and has a 14-8 record, 3.63 ERA and leads the team with 93 strikeouts.
