INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI's men's tennis team stayed undefeated on their home courts, beating Austin Peay 5-2 on Saturday evening (Feb. 17).
 
The Jags fell behind early, losing the doubles point as only the team of David Beasley and Grant Esposito won the No. 3 match 6-1.
 
IUPUI (4-4) made the comeback in singles play. The Jags tied up the match with a win by Ethan Mardanus-Budiono at the No. 6 singles spot, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
 
Eric Hollingsworth gave the Jags the match lead, winning the No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-3. Bradley Luetschwager put IUPUI one point away from the match win with a 7-5, 6-3 win in the No. 5 spot.
 
The rest of the matches went three sets, with Jac Newis earning the winning point, winning the No. 1 singles match after losing the first set, taking the match 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
 
After the match was decided, Beasley earned IUPUI's final point with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 win at No. 3.
 
IUPUI will hit the road for two matches on Sunday (Feb. 17) as the Jags will start their day at Northern Illinois at 10 a.m. and will finish at Northwestern at 6 p.m.
