Box Score CINCINNATI – The IU Indianapolis men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday afternoon, dropping a tightly contested 4-3 decision to Tennessee State in Horizon League Tournament action.
The Jaguars (IU Indy) battled back-and-forth throughout the match and evened the score at 3-3 in singles play before the Tigers secured the deciding point at No. 6 singles.
After dropping the doubles point, IU Indy responded with three singles victories.
Konner Gunwall put the Jaguars on the board with a 6-4, 4-1 win at No. 1, and
Owen Nguyen followed with a hard-fought 7-6 (6), 7-6 (7) victory at No. 2.
Cameron Kryscio added a straight-set win at No. 4, defeating Alexander Adamec 7-6 (6), 6-1 to pull IU Indy even.
Tennessee State answered with wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, setting up a tie-breaking match at No. 6.
Jai Dutta battled in a three-set match before falling to Christopher Bogelin, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, as TSU clinched the match.
In doubles play, Tennessee State took the No. 1 and No. 2 matches to take the early 1-0 lead. IU Indy's pair of
Konner Gunwall and
Brandon Pham fell 6-2 at No. 1, while
Owen Nguyen and CJ Kryscio dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 2.
With the result, IU Indianapolis concludes the 2026 season. Despite the loss, the Jaguars showed resilience by pushing the match to the final court, continuing a trend of tightly contested matches throughout the season.
