INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team battled for a big 4-3 win over Lipscomb on Friday afternoon (Feb. 16).
 
IUPUI (3-4) ended a two-match losing streak with the win over Lipscomb (2-4).
 
The Jags swept the doubles matches with the team of David Beasley and Sean Bailey clinching the point for IUPUI with a 7-5 win. The other two doubles matches went in to tie breaks with Bradley Luetschwager and Grant Weaver winning 7-6 (6) and Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and Jac Newis winning 7-6 (1).
 
Lipscomb tied the match after winning the No. 3 singles match. IUPUI took a 3-1 lead after Luetschwager won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and Eric Hollingsworth took the No. 4 singles match 6-4, 6-2.
 
The Bisons grabbed point back with a win at No. 1. With the score 3-2, Mardanus-Budiono battled back from losing the first set and took the third-set tie break 7-3 to earn the match win for IUPUI.
