MEN'S TENNIS WITH BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD

Jaguars have four matches, including two on their home court, beginning on Friday (Feb. 16).

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI's men's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead of itself with four matches in three days.

The Jaguars (2-4) will play two matches at home before heading out for two road matches on Sunday (Feb. 18).

After falling in their last two matches, at Kentucky and at Iowa, the Jags return to the West Indy Racquet Club for a match against Lipscomb on Friday (Feb. 16) at 1 p.m., before hosting Austin Peay on Saturday (Feb. 17) at 4 p.m.
IUPUI will then hit the road on Sunday for two matches, beginning the day at Northern Illinois. The match against the Huskies will begin at 9 a.m. From there, IUPUI will head to Evanston, Ill., to take on Northwestern at 5:30 p.m.

Bradley Luetschwager leads the Jags with four wins in dual matches on the season, with all four coming at the No. 4 singles spot. Luetschwager dropped his last two matches at No. 3 singles. Ethan Mardanus-Budiono is the only other Jaguar with multiple wins in dual matches holding a 3-3 record and 3-1 record at No. 5 singles.

The best doubles pair this year for IUPUI has been Mardanus-Budiono and Jac Newis who hold a 2-2 record this spring.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
Lipscomb comes in to the match with the Jags with a 2-3 record on the season, having lost their last two matches, including a 4-0 loss to Alabama. Victor Chaw owns the best record on the season for the Bisons with a 3-1 record in the No. 2 singles spot.

SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay is 1-5 on the season so far and will face Dayton on Friday (Feb. 16) before heading to Indianapolis to face the Jags. The Governors lost their last match 7-0 to Vanderbilt. Both Aleh Drobysh and Jacob Lorino each lead Austin Peay with two singles wins in dual matches this season.

SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Northern Illinois is coming off of a 5-0 loss to Marquette but sits at 7-3 on the season. The Jags will be the third Horizon League team Northern Illinois has faced this season. The Huskies split their first two matches, losing 3-4 to Cleveland State and beating Green Bay 5-2. Kristopher Ortega leads the Huskies with six singles wins in dual meets this season. Ortega is 3-0 at the No. 3 spot. Tom Hjertonsson is 4-0 in No. 5 singles competition this year. In doubles play, the team of Georg Lundkvist and Bor Scheweiger Muzar is 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
The Wildcats are 3-5 on the season but three of the losses for Northwestern have come against ranked teams (No. 9 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 19 Duke). The last match for Northwestern was a 4-0 win against Chicago State. The Wildcats will play Louisville on Sunday before hosting the Jags. Nick Brookes has been the best player for Northwestern this season with a 5-2 dual match record. Brookes is 3-2 at the No. 3 spot and 2-0 at No. 4 singles.
