MUNCIE, Ind. - The IUPUI men's tennis team (6-17, 0-2) will look to end their nine-meet losing streak this week with a trip to Muncie to take on Ball State on Wednesday (April 12), before heading back home to take on Summit League foe Denver, on Saturday (April 15).
David Beasley has led the Jaguars in singles play, posting an 11-9 record on the season and holding a team best 3-1 at the No. 3 spot. Beasley has also been very productive in doubles matches as he leads the team with a 3-4 record in the No.1 spot with his partner
Bradley Luetschwager. Beasley has an overall doubles record of 10-9 on the season.
Ball State is coming off a 3-4 loss to Toledo on April 7, following a week break. Conner Anderson and Patrick Downs lead the Cardinals in singles play posting an 11-7 record and 11-4 record, respectively. The matchup with the Cardinals will take place at 3 p.m. EST in Muncie.
The Saturday meet will feature a tough matchup with a Denver (9-11, 2-1) team that has won four out of the last six meets. Most recently, the Pioneers dropped a meet against Wichita State, 5-2. Yannik James, who has a 12-5 record on the season, leads Denver in singles play. James, along with Alex Gasson, is also part of the No.1 doubles team that has gone 9-4 on the season. The matchup will take place at the West Indy Racquet Club at 12 p.m. EST Saturday. Admission to the event is free.
