INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team (5-8) will host a pair of weekend dual-meets prior to a multi-week break from scheduled activities beginning Friday (March 3) with Saint Louis before the team welcomes Northern Illinois Saturday (March 4).
The Jags are currently losers of three-straight meets, having seen their three-meet win streak snapped against Belmont. The Jags then played a pair of road meets this past Saturday (Feb. 25), dropping both matches in abbreviated shutouts.
For the season, the Jags have received outstanding performances from
Bradley Luetschwager and
Marcus Nalley in singles play, as both student-athletes have amassed winning records. Luetschwager leads his team with a 7-3 singles record, mostly playing out of the No. 5 and 6 singles spots. Nalley has gone 6-4 while mostly seeing time at the No. 5 spot.
David Beasley has also been strong for the Jags with a 6-6 record in dual play, going 2-1 as the No. 3.
This year, the Jags have earned two Summit League Player of the Week nods, with both Luetschwager and
Steven Christie picking up the honor.
