INDIANAPOLIS – Following a strong showing across three dual-meets this past weekend, the IUPUI men's tennis team (2-2) will play a single dual-meet Wednesday (Feb. 1) against cross-town foe, the University of Indianapolis, at 3 p.m. EST.
The Jags are fresh off a 2-1 weekend, in which the team picked up its first victories of the young spring season with commanding showings against Cardinal Stritch and Chicago State.
Bradley Luetschwager was named the Summit League Player of the Week for his efforts, as the big junior won a pair of three-set games that went the distance, helping guide IUPUI to its dual-meet victories.
After falling to Marquette 1-6 early on Saturday (Jan. 28), the Jags refocused their efforts, trouncing a short-handed Cardinal Stritch team 5-2 later that same day. The following day, the Jags were masterful in their commanding win over Chicago State, sealing the doubles point on their way to a 6-1 victory.
The University of Indianapolis will be opening its season in the dual-meet with IUPUI, as the team is slated to play a pair of meets at home before heading to the road on Feb. 19. The team finished the 2016 season with an 18-3 overall record, going 6-0 in conference play before seeing its season end in the NCAA Championships. The Greyhounds were victorious in their meet with IUPUI last season, downing the Jags 5-2.
