Photo GalleryINDIANAPOLIS – Coming off a disappointing road loss last Saturday at Oral Roberts, the IUPUI men's tennis team rebounded with a 6-1 victory over Wright State Thursday afternoon at the West Indy Racquet Club.
IUPUI's four seniors teamed up for doubles victories to get the Jags out to a 1-0 lead, before it took five of the six singles matches to earn the win. IUPUI improved to 8-14 overall, while Wright State fell to 10-16 on the season.
In doubles play,
Patrick O'Neill and
Adam Reinhart posted a 6-2 win at one doubles and
Alex Toliver and
Thomas Gans added a 6-3 win at the second spot to send IUPUI into singles action with the one-point lead.
Toliver,
David Beasley and
Marcus Nalley each posted straight-set wins at the three, four and six spots, offsetting a Wright State win at one singles to secure the win.
But for good measure, Reinhart and
Akshay Verma each overcame 7-6 first-set losses to win in three sets to finish off the 6-1 win.
Up next for the Jags is a trip to nearby Butler on Friday, April 10. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET
