DAYTON, Ohio – The final weekend of the regular-season for the IUPUI softball team begins on Tuesday, April 28, when the Jags head to Dayton, Ohio to face Wright State in a doubleheader at the WSU Softball Field.
Tuesday's doubleheader will begin at 5 p.m., and both games will be streamed on ESPN3.
IUPUI, winners of seven straight games and nine of 10, enter Tuesday with a 30-12 overall record after going a perfect 3-0 last week. The 30 wins are a Division-I era school-record for wins as the previous record was 27 set back in 1999 – IUPUI's first season in the D-I ranks.
During its win streak, the Jaguars offense has been impressive averaging 6.4 runs per game, while its pitching staff has given up more than three runs only once. On Monday, April 27,
Brooke Boetjer was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week as she went 3-0 yielding just two runs in 14.0 innings of work resulting in a 1.00 ERA. The three wins pushed Boetjer's record to 19-9, placing her atop the IUPUI single-season wins chart.
Offensively,
Maggie Good has been the Jaguars leading hitter over the last seven games hitting .632 (12-of-19) during that stretch with six RBI.
Roni Patterson continues to lead the squad with a .361 average, and
Ali Mosier's multi-home run game on Friday against Omaha boosted her team and Summit League leading home run total to 14. Mosier and
Eryn Dillon are tied for the team lead with 37 RBI.
IUPUI and Wright State met three times last season with two of games being determined by one run. The Raiders won the first game 1-0, before IUPUI took two on its home field in late April by scores of 8-0 and 13-12.
