TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The IUPUI softball team will be looking to extend its winning streak to five games on Tuesday, April 21, when it heads to Terre Haute, Ind., to take on Indiana State.
IUPUI and Indiana State were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 7, but the game was postponed to April 21 due to rain. Instead of playing two games on Tuesday, the Jags and Sycamores will play a single game beginning at 4 p.m.
The Jaguars enter with a 27-12 record on the season following a doubleheader sweep over Northern Kentucky last Tuesday, which tied the program's Division-I era record for wins in a season.
Roni Patterson continues to lead the team in batting average hitting at a .360 clip, while
Ali Mosier isn't far behind at .352. Mosier is the team leader in homers with 12, while
Eryn Dillon's 35 RBI paces the squad. While Patterson leads the team in hitting for the year,
Maggie Good has been the team's top hitter during its four-game winning streak hitting .727 (8-for-11) with four RBI.
The Jags pitching staff has also been impressive as of late yielding three earned runs or less in 10 of the team's last 11 outings. IUPUI owns a 2.39 ERA led by
Emili Escamilla's 2.11 ERA, while
Brooke Boetjer is right behind Escamilla with a 2.20 ERA.
Indiana State enters the mid-week, non-conference contest with an 18-24 record.
